By Meg Jordan, Professor and Chair of the Integrative Health Studies Department
IHL faculty member Julia Zarcone joined me last month for the Institute of Medicine’s summit on integrative medicine in Washington, D.C.—and it was an historic event. Over 500 of the nation’s leading doctors, authors, and allied health professionals assembled to feed facts and narratives to key testifying figures: Oz, Ornish, Weil and Hyman, the big names of integrative medicine.
The consensus: We need to transform health behavior in this nation, or the entire sick care industry could follow on the heels of the economic collapse. The words "We need health coaches" were spoken 38 times from the lectern. CIIS could not be better poised, since our IHL M.A. offers the leading integrative wellness coaching and program design curriculum in the nation.
